Ordinary meetings of Liverpool Plains Shire Council are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at the commencing at 2.30pm. Extraordinary meetings are called as required. All meetings are held at the Council Chambers at 60 Station Street, Quirindi.
The NSW Parliament has passed legislation to help combat the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and introduced Public Health (COVID-19 Gatherings) Order 2020. Amendments to the Local Government Act 1993 allows Council to hold official meetings remotely using audio visual links, instead of requiring Councillors to physically attend meetings.

Council meetings are usually open to the public. However, in line with the Public Health Order, Council has suspended physical public attendance at meetings. All Council meetings are recorded and webcast. While the NSW Government’s social distancing requirements remain in place, members of the public can attend meetings remotely via webcast.
Usually, Council holds a Public Forum prior to the commencement of each meeting, during which members of the public may address Council on a matter or issue listed on the meeting agenda for consideration. To speak at a Public Forum, you must first apply using the Approved Form.
However, while the Public Health Order remains in force, members of the public must make submissions in writing rather than in person. Submissions will be provided to all Councillors and tabled at the meeting.
